Pension, Family Pension and Other Facilities to Ex-Members
Pension
:
According to
the provisions of the Act, each ex-member is paid, on monthly basis :
| (i) | for any period of his membership upto 5 years whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 5,000/-; |
| (ii) | for any period of his membership beyond 5 years but upto 10 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 6,000/-; |
| (iii) | for any period of his membership beyond 10 years but upto 15 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 7,000/-; |
| (iv) | for any period of his membership beyond 15 years but upto 20 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 8,000/-; |
| (v) | for any period of his membership beyond 20 years but upto 25 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 9,000/-; |
| (vi) | for any period of his membership beyond 25 years but upto 30 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 10,000/-; |
| (vii) | for any period of his membership beyond 30 years but upto 35 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 11,000/-; |
| (viii) | for any period of his membership beyond 35 years but upto 40 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 12,000/-; |
| (ix) | for any period of his membership beyond 40 years but upto 45 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 13,000/-; |
| (x) | for any period of his membership beyond 45 years but upto 50 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 14,000/-; |
| (xi) | for any period of his membership beyond 50 years but upto 55 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 15,000/-; |
| (xii) | for any period of his membership beyond 55 years but upto 60 years, whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 16,000/-; and |
| (xiii) | for any period of his membership beyond 60 years whether continuous or not, a pension of Rs. 17,000/- per month. |
| Total pension which include pension from other sources should not exceed to Rs. 17,000- per month. |
Explanation:-
In computing the number of years for the purpose of determining pension with respect to a person who is elected to the Legislative Assembly in a bye-election, the period commencing with the date on which such person takes oath of his membership and ending with the date of dissolution of the Assembly is deemed to be five years.
Family Pension :
When a member of the Legislative Assembly dies before the expiry of the term of his office, his or her spouse is paid family pension of an amount per month equivalent to the salary which such member would have been entitled to had he been alive.
The Spouse of deceased ex-member shall be entitled with effect from 01-08-2009 or with effect from the date of death of such member whichever is later to receive per mensem a family pension equal to Rs. 2,500/- or equal to 50% of the last drawn pension by such member, whichever is higher.
Medical Facility :
With effect from 01-04-2010, each Ex-member is entitled to the reimbursement of any expenditure on account of medical treatment equivalent to that permissible to the retire officers of class I services of the State Government.
Traveling Facility :
Each Ex-member is provided two free non-transferable passes for self and a companion which entitles him/her to travel by all types of service buses of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation including deluxe and air conditioned bus services.
With effect from 01-04-2010 every person who has served as a member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly shall be entitled to receive reimbursement of actual fare of any journey under taken by him either alone or with persons accompanying him, within the territory of India in any class of Railway, Air, Ship or Steamer, subject to a maximum limit of Rs. 25,000/- in a financial year, in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by rules made in this behalf.
